March 2025
March and March Madness is known for competitions, buzzer-beater moments and the thrill of victory. Lone Jack C6 students are bringing their own brand of March Madness to life this year. Our students have really showcased their talents, resilience, brilliance and commitment to excellence through the late winter and early spring weeks.
Our Agriculture program has had both Team 1st and 2nd place results in Farm Management competitions, all team members were in the top 10 and Ben Lidberg, Lane Brashears and Nate McLaughlin all placing. Hunter Gohdes, Lane Brashears and Nate McLaughlin also earned their State FFA Degrees. This honor takes many hours of hard work and dedication.
Our I-70 Conference Math Relay team placed 1st with sophomores and 4th for juniors. Parker Nichol, Jacob Lidberg and Leland Phelps all placed individually.
Lauren Turner won 1st place in Speech & Debate District Competition for poetry reading and qualified for the State Tournament!
We are headed into District Band and Choir competition. 22 choir students will be participating, as well as 7 band members! Our programs continue to grow in numbers and talent.
Emma Holsten earned a 2nd place in her Teaching Professions competition and qualified for national competition.
Our 2nd Annual Talent Show had 7 amazing performances and our NHS Project Linus made so many blankets for kids.
Elementary students participated in their annual Read A Thon. These amazing students read 14,352 book pages and over $4600 was raised to help with new gymnasium mats.
We celebrate our FIRST EVER state wrestling champion Lilly McCleary. Ty White finished 4th as the highest finishing freshman and a total of 11 wrestlers made it to state competition.
Our Lady Mules Basketball team made it to the state Final Four tournament for the first time ever in school history. The examples of teamwork, determination and grit have made our entire district proud.
Adding to the celebration our LJ PTA and community came together for a record breaking silent auction, raising more money than any previous year to support LJ students. This effort is such a testament to the generosity and pride of Lone Jack.
March Madness may be about basketball to some, but here in Lone Jack it is about drive and community spirit. The LJC6 vision is to “Inspire Excellence.” Our students inspire us daily, our community embraces and celebrates the inspiration. CONGRATULATIONS to all of our students in every area and thank you to those who support them, ALL OF YOU are what makes Lone Jack truly special.
