LJC6 families, we have continued concerns with morning road conditions. School buildings will be closed Thursday, January 9th. It will be our second AMI day, online learning. AMPM Mules Club will be open from 7:00am - 5pm. Afternoon activities for this date will be decided at noon or earlier. Please see the follow up email for further information.

LJC6 attempts to weigh all concerns and look at all aspects of travel to and from school. This includes road conditions, ability for buses to start and travel safely, safety of student bus stops, car travel for families and staff, etc. With the current road travel conditions, All Lone Jack C6 buildings will be closed, Wednesday, January 8th.
This is our first AMI day. Online instruction. At the end of this email are the instructions for students at both levels. Building principals or teachers might have further communication if needed. We are allowed 5 AMI days, so the last day of school remains the same, May 14th.
Early Learning classes are cancelled.
AMPM Mules Club will be open from 7:00am - 5:00pm.
Evening activities will be assessed at the noon hour as we see how the temperatures adjust and how road conditions are throughout the day.

Save the date!!! Your HS student council is hosting a district-wide ice skating event on January 11 from 1-3 pm at the Independence Community Ice Rink at Cable Dahmer Arena. If you show our Lone Jack flyer (attached!) the cost is only $8 and you get free ice skate rental!

We are looking for participants for Cohort 3 of G2K LJC6 or GET 2 KNOW LJC6 sessions. G2K is a behind the scenes look at state, district and school planning and processes. Ever wonder why in the world school districts do what they do? If you are curious this would be some time well spent.
Superintendent Butler offers a series 6 two hour "classes" which run through the months of February and March. We choose Monday nights, as the class then includes two Board of Education meetings to observe.
Topics include state statute and policy, Board of Education, day in the life of a principal, student services focuses and curriculum, instruction and teacher worlds.

The LJHS FCS group worked their first semester service project this morning by hosting a pancake breakfast for the MS HS staff. It was delicious! Thank you FCS.

LJE's Leader Council sold nearly 3000 candy canes last week. They used all their candy cane funds to buy enough items to make a very large donation to our Angel Tree charity. Great work LJE Leader Council!
